ABOUT LORI
My love for photography began long before I knew that it would become my full-time career. As long as I can remember, I've had a love for art and I've always been drawn to photos. I began pursuing photography during high school using a darkroom that my dad built for me in the garage. What started as a hobby has become a lifelong passion. I attended the University of Montevallo and earned a BFA in art and photography and immediately began working in the field after I graduated in 2004. I have done literally thousands of portrait sittings during the course of my career. I opened my own business in 2008. I feel very blessed to have been able to turn my passion into a career. They always say, "Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life." Although my job is rarely easy, this is still the way I feel about my work. While I enjoy all types of photography, my biggest passion has always been photographing little ones. Nothing brings me more joy than to know that I made someone happy with not only their photos but with their entire experience with me.
My other passion in life is music (almost all genres). I'm always listening to music when I edit photos. I also enjoy spending time with my family. I'm married to the absolute love of my life and best friend and we have a beautiful daughter and an adorable baby boy.
I also enjoy shooting frequently for Heart Gallery Alabama, a local organization that helps foster children find their forever families. It's very rewarding to be a small part of the process. Check them out here: heartgalleryalabama.com
Here is one of my favorite quotes: "A photograph fulfills my deep need to stop things from disappearing. In photography I have tried to create order out of chaos, to find stability in flux and beauty in the most unlikely places." -Dorothy Bohm
